HISTORY
Senior Outreach Services was founded in 1979 as Project
GOh - Golden Age Outreach for Health Project Foundation. Senior Outreach
Services was incorporated in 1981 and received 501(c)(3) status in 1982.
The agency was modeled after African village life which emphasizes respect,
reverence and caring for elders by everyone in the village.
Since its inception, the agency programs and services have focused on
enabling elders to stay at home and maintain a high quality of life. SOS
began serving elders in the Fairfax community and over the years has expanded
service to include the University Circle, Central, lower Kinsman,
Buckeye/Shaker, Woodland Hills, Glenville, and Hough communities on the
east
side of Cleveland.
