Senior Outreach Services: Client Services | Individual

Senior Outreach Services was founded in 1979 as Project GOh -   Golden Age Outreach for Health Project Foundation.   Senior Outreach Services was incorporated in 1981 and received 501(c)(3) status in 1982.   The agency was modeled after African village life which emphasizes respect, reverence and caring for elders by everyone in the village. Since its inception, the agency programs and services have focused on enabling elders to stay at home and maintain a high quality of life.

OUR MISSION

To help older adults and their families improve their health, independence and quality of life through community outreach and support.

OUR APPROACH

To promote health and wellness and provide a means for elders to use the expressive arts, fitness and dance as their tools to improve their quality of life.  Participants also have access to a wide range of health information sessions and screenings throughout the year.  SOS also offers in-home supports which help elders continue to live in their homes and which also provides respite to caregivers.

OUR TARGET AREA

SOS began serving elders in the Fairfax community and over the years has expanded service to include the University Circle, Central, lower Kinsman, Buckeye/Shaker, Central, Woodland Hills, Glenville, Mt. Pleasant, and Hough communities on the east side of Cleveland as well as the cities of East Cleveland and Cleveland Heights.
